About Our Pageant
The Pageant Event
The Placer County Scholarship Pageants take place during the Placer County Fair, which has traditionally taken place beginning the Thursday after Father's Day, every June, and running through the following Sunday. All pageants will be OPENING NIGHT of the fair, THURSDAY, inside the newly remodeled JOHNSON HALL!
The prize package of the Placer County Pageants since 2015, when Up Pageantry was awarded the production contract has exceeded $6,000 annually in prizes, gifts, and scholarships. No other local pageant comes CLOSE to this, and our low entry fee covers all categories, including awards for the Royal Court, Best Interview, Most Photogenic, People's Choice Photogenic, Miss Congeniality, Spirit Award, Community Service Award, and Essay Award (Essay competition is voluntary).
The scoring for each category is equally weighted. All categories compete in Personal Interview (which is panel style); Gown or Party Dress; and, impromptu Question. Additional categories are for MISS- Swimwear, TEEN-Athletic Wear, MRS/MS-Athletic Wear, and JUNIORS-Fun Fashion or Theme Wear.
Rehearsals begin after Orientataion, which usually occurs the last week in April or first week of May. They occur once a week for 2 hours. We offer several "make ups" for girls who want extra practice or who have missed a regularly scheduled one. We also do NOT score you for "Reliability", i.e. "attendance".
